Start All Over

AJ,
I watched "Start All Over", by Miley Cyrus. There's one thing for sure, every good band has a good drummer and a good singer. This tune kind of gets you excited even though you're an adult. I love the bycicle stunts and the guy on stilts. At first I did not like that it was "all a dream", but now I see that it's a reasonable device for some fun images to come. The cheerleader and disco dance moves are not among these, however. I like the way the band looked rockin'. Let's see more of the drummer next time.

King Bee

hubo,
So, the idea with this blog is to hang with you all like how we hang at home.  Ball game in the background,  Ikey Sleeping, Hazel finger painting, red paint on the computer keyboard....
I have my little beater Art and Lutherie guitar (I recommend this instrument, BTW) and it's always out and I'm always playing but not as often playing seriously.  We listen to Grammy Jeans crazy scraggly Dylan, Yellowman, Ralph Stanley mixes in the car and the music follows us into the house.
It all does intersect with the bigger stuff.  Like, I'm doing this Muddy Waters tune in the band.

Tell Me Something Good

I've started an R&B band called Littlenoface
So I've been practicing this fascinating little #.

Tell Me Something Good

So cool, the intro seems preposterously difficult but it just starts starts with bass on the & of 4. Guitar plays quarter notes on strong beats.  Drums just plays fills the first time through so it sounds like the one is in a different place.  I love stuff like that.
Of course I'm not demonstrating any of that here, except the guitar playing strong beats and my Chaka Kahn imitation.
BTW, I had to sneak away from bath duty with the kids to make this recording.  You can hear Stacia bust me.  That's the reason for the abrupt ending

AJ,
I Watched T-Pain "Buy You a Drank".  OK, where do I start?  You know these are unrealistic body images, right?  Except that I may actually be in better shape than T-Pain himself.  Anyway, there are some ideas in this video that I find to be.... um controversial.  I won't go into it further because maybe you haven't listened to it too closely, which would be good.  Good singing, though, and a nice syrupy rope of a bass sound.  Sort of repetitive.  I give it a B-.  Thanks and I'll give you another report soon.

Nothing

This is blog, pure and simple.  I'll upload little unimportant clips with noo song ideas, little slices of cover toons, or whatever.

I'd love to talk to you and let you me help help me.

This song is something I wrote for my mom and dad's answering machine.  My kid nieces went bonkers and had to listen to it twenty times in a row every time they went to their grandparents house.

AJ & Naomi,
I still haven't made it through my youtube mix.  You guys are trying to keep me current but I'm still a foagie.  Sorry, I'll do my homework soon.  I'll put wry comments about the songs here, at this blog, in the near future!
